"The Cost of Living" observations

Much to the chagrin of my co-blogger, i was predicting this would be the next death. i liked the character of Eko when we first met him, but over time he gradually lost his appeal and i found myself siding with Locke. When i heard that it was to be another Eko ep and that the previews were saying someone would die... i could tell that TPTB were bringing his storyline full circle. Surprise, surprise, i was right.

Still, i'm lifting my Jesus stick in tribute,
Muchacha de Hurley

- So, when Eko found his brother the first time, he hugged him and asked for forgiveness.

- i wouldn't have confessed to the priest.

- Why does Yemi have a lighter?

- So Sayid got back just in time to put out another fire. And Locke has apparently taken charge.

- What in the heck is Ben wearing?

- So, Jack actually takes off his shirt in this scene... but we still get to see very little.

- Jack didn't have a bag over his head when they brought him outside. They don't even seem to be watching him closely.

- Burning a body with a water burial... is that a Hindu tradition?

- i would think that it was really strange if my priest up and left without telling anyone ahead of time.

- So the black smoke (as i like to call it) shows people other people? People from their past? Can it read anyone's mind?

- Ah, all of a sudden there's a nice stream of water on the way. And the beach has a nice water reservoir. i thought that the entire point of staying at the caves was that it was the only place they could find fresh water? But then there was that swimming pond that Sawyer and Kate used once, and they've never show that again, either. i'd be swimming every day, that's how i'd lose weight!

- Father Yemi was alright with this illegal vaccine stealing set up? i find that very hard to believe. It's like the same day or day after Yemi died.

- So, where'd Eko get the shirt? He hasn't worn one in a lonnnnnggggg time. All he does with shirts is tear off the sleaves.

- The black smoke doesn't want to be seen by more than one person at a time apparently.

- Juliet is such a flirt. And Ben doesn't want them to get close even though he's the one who put her in the room with him.

- Yeah, how were they going to break Jack now? In the amount of time available? With what leverage? Juliet does not remind me of Sarah, she's just another blonde, not a school teacher, a doctor. Why in the world does Ben need Jack to "want" to save him??? Whatever happened to the hyppocratic oath, Jack is obligated to save him. And there is no way Ben believes in God, he's so full of it, he said that "God can't see the Island". i still believe that someone brought the plane down on purpose.

- Why can't Locke say Yemi's name?

- How many vaccines does a small village need? A refugee camp i understand, but there doesn't seem to be many of those. i guess they're for the clinic.

- What exactly is Eko trying to accomplish by putting the vaccines on the market?

- What happened to Yemi's body?

- Why is Locke hanging around outside when coming to the Pearl was his idea?

- Where did Eko have a photo taken with his brother when he was a kid? Why is there blood on the photo?

- So, it's a sin to kill someone in self defense inside a church? i wish i would have known that sooner... (;

- It must be nice to use a toilet after going two months without one.

- Who's the guy with one eye and how did he know that he was being watched? It kinda looked like he was in another dome inside a hatch.

- See, Juliet says she's sorry that they "brought" him here, that Ben was desperate and it was so they could save his life.

- i don't trust Juliet. What, you can't stand up to Ben, you have to murder him? And can't Ben see anything in the window's reflection? i'd be afraid that he'd be able to read all of it.

- So, she's not happy to have the entire vaccine and is boarding her boy up inside. Why is Catholisism all about guilt and making reparations for what sins you've made? Why don't they understand that Jesus already paid for those sins???

- Was Eko building a church because of what that woman said?

- Yemi touched the cross, moved it: was he really there? He called Eko "brother" earlier, why is he now confused by the way Eko treates him?

- i'm not saying that i approve of all that Eko has ever done, but doing the best with what you have been given... what else can a person do? Why does this require Eko to be killed? i'd definitely be afraid of the black smoke, too, though you got to admit that the way that it kills is kinda corny. It would have been awesome if it would have just went inside him or slit him over or something instead of pummeling him against trees.

- It's awesome that Eko is happy with his brother again.

"Every Man for Himself" observations

This ep is full of surprises, isn't it? The funny thing is that even though Sawyer says that it's "Every man for himself" his actions are the complete opposite. He's doing everything to protect Kate. But in the process he's also trying to push her away while at the same time inwardly begging her to love him. Ironic, huh?

skate on,
Muchacha de Hurley

- Jack's comments to Juliet are great: it's the same sort of stuff that Ben used on him and Locke to pit them against each other.

- i'm not sure i really agree with Sawyer's logic on grabbing Pickett, but at least he's trying to come up with something. Perhaps it would have been smarter for him not to announce his plan to Kate before the fact, however. He didn't have to go pushing the button repeatedly to tip them off, either.

- Who knew Sawyer could box? Interesting, he's been in prison for nine months. i wonder how long the trial took?

- So when the warden said that he could "extend" Sawyer's stay he really meant that he could cut it short?

- So who thinks that Ben didn't already know Sawyer's age and approximate weight, too? Doesn't he probably have a file on all the crashees? And who knew he could beat Sawyer up, little guy like him?

- This new guy is a real stuck up jerk. Of course Desmond knows more about golf.

- Sawyer's heartrate goes waaaaaayyyyyy up just looking at Kate's back: how would he ever survive sex? Far too taxing on his old heart, it seems.

- i just about cried when i found out about Clementine and when Sawyer said she wasn't his.

- i would have recognized Jack right away but the alarm was a good idea if you want him to think he's nowhere near his friends. On the other hand, he now knows that he's not underwater, and i think he did hear them anyway.

- i don't think that the woman was alive when Jack came in. i think the heartbeat was simulated. Ben was smiling while Danny went outside to beat up Sawyer. i think that everything that's going on here is manipulative. Everything. "She was dead before you put her on the table."

- Why do they need a fertility doctor on the Island? Juliet could have been born on the Island, but she couldn't have been trained on it.

- This sure is a bad day for Sawyer. But he did get to enjoy Kate's touch for a little while and hear that she loves him. (:

- Kate's a regular monkey. i don't think i could climb out of that cage, but i don't think she was lying when she said that she loves Sawyer, rather she was lying when she said she didn't.

- Who is Jack really here to save??? One of my theories has always been that the entire plane was made to crash on the Island on purpose. Perhaps this is the reason why. Maybe everyone is here just to get one surgeon on the Island: everything happens for a reason.

- Sawyer is obviously really smart even though he never finished school. He always comes up with new nicknames, quotes books. Ben may be better educated, but i'm on Sawyer's side.

"Further Instructions" observations

This episode really doesn't make very much sense to me.

- Why is Locke mute? Or has he chosen silence like Eko? Why in the world is he telling Charlie that he needs to talk to the Island?

- "tail light's out" even though it's daytime?!?

- Charlie's comments about drugs are great. Why should he help Locke after what Locke did to him? And why is so holier than thou when using his own mind-altering drugs? How does Locke know that what he's using isn't addictive or damaging his brain?

- Sun and Jin are fighting as always, but "Sayid's got it." LOL

- Hurley's entering the numbers? Why? He hates the numbers.

- Why does Desmond get the hot chicks? LOL

- Locke curses during his prayers and doesn't close his eyes. Is he a Christian? Why does he now worship the Island??? Who are these people he's hanging out with?

- i love how Hurley's response to everything is "Dude." He almost gets nailed, saved by canteen.

- Yep, the hairspray's for Locke's head!

- So, the bear is chewing on Eko when Locke finds him, but he's fine, he's okay to go hiking the next day.

- Yep, Desmond is the incredible Hulk. Dude, i'd like to see the hatch, what it looks like now. So does Desmond now know what's going to happen before it does?

- Why's Locke supposedly a farmer instead of a hunter??? This doesn't make sense. Why didn't Locke shoot Eddy? Why did he come up with the idea in the first place? i thought that he could keep him in the forest long enough for them to get the marijuana out and then show him a greenhouse full of harmless plants. i also thought that we'd find out that Locke gets shot and that's how he was paralyzed for sure.

- Hurley has deja vu? He saw the speech, too??? Or is he just remembering what Desmond said?

just in case you were wondering,

"The Glass Ballerina"

i meant to post this over a week ago, i've just been so busy. This semester will be over within the month and hopefully i'll be able to start going through season one and writing on my theories about it. For "The Glass Ballerina" i'm posting my observations as i watched the ep for the third time.

i can hardly wait for Feb. 7!
Muchacha de Hurley

- Why was Sun afraid of her father as a child?

- Why is Jin so violent with Sun? Why is he so insistent that they abandon Jack, Kate, Sawyer, Hurley, and Michael?

- So, two knocks is the code?

- i still think that Ben and Juliet must have history of some kind.

- Colleen is as hostile as her husband, isn't she?

- "Brian" was waiting for Sayid to show up and they know he's and Iraqui.

- Mr. Friendly is tall.

- So, you kiss your wife in front of your prisoners and they're not supposed to watch?

- Why is Sun apologizing? If she thought it was wrong, she shouldn't have done it. Why does Jin seem to think she shouldn't ever disagree with him?

- i'm mad at Sun because she is in bed with Jae. How mortifying it must be for your father to find out and see you! Why does Jae want her now? He could have had her before, but nooooo....

- What in the world are the Others clearing land to build?

- Sawyer's reaction to Danny's dress comment was classic. Awesome.

- Danny's not dumb: he is smart though, knows is he shocks Kate then he'll get Sawyer's ire up, if he shocks Sawyer he'll get Kate to do what he wants.

- Why does Sun's father insist on Jin doing his dirty work for him? In this instince it makes sense, but he doesn't tell Jin why. What i don't understand is why any man should expect to get exactly what he want all the time and for people to die or suffer when he doesn't get it. And Jin seems to have learned this anger from him. i wish Jin would stop acting like his father-in-law and do what he know is right.

- Yeah, you can see when Sayid is lying about the dock that Jin understands more than he's letting on.

- Sawyer has no shame, does he? He just stares up Kate's skirt.

- So Alex is friends with Karl??? Or is it something more?

- What would Sun know about lying? Quite a lot. She's lied to Jin for a long time about not having an affair.

- See, Sayid is smart, too, he wants to take two hostages: "One to make the other cooperate." Kate can make Jack or Sawyer cooperate, can't she? (So the Others think.)

- Sun has to help Jin take his jacket off just to lay it over a chair? She's nervous about seeing him, now that her father knows.

- Sun apparently still chooses Jin however. She wants to start over with him, she doesn't want to live without him.

- Jin knows how to use a gun?

- What is Juliet flirting with Sawyer? Just trying to apologize? Soften him up? Doesn't she understand that Kate's his girl? Guess she does, cuz she knows who to threaten.

- Jae definitely knows who Jin is. And i honestly don't know if he commited suicide because he discovered that he couldn't be with Sun anymore or ir someone was cleaning up after Jin.

- Once again, the claim that the Others aren't the enemy... Colleen was so certain that Sun wouldn't shoot her, so she comes point blank and makes it worse. Gut shot, slow and painful way to go.

- So, the Others apparently don't know that Sun's pregnant yet. Otherwise i don't think Tom would be shooting at her, even if she did shoot Colleen (which of course he doesn't know yet).

- So, it's unacceptable for Sun to go to the funeral of a man whom was a publically acknowledged friend?

- Sun and Jin obviously love each other.

- Nice of Sayid to apologize, but... they're going to go walking through an unfamilliar jungle in the middle of the night?

- How late do they make Kate and Sawyer work, anyway? He's smart, he feels out the limits, figures out where their weaknesses are.

- So, Ben finally introduces himself to Jack. Ben has a silly name, has lived on the Island his entire life, and Jack is on a hunger strike for some reason. Ben is a manipulative little $#!*, isn't he?

- So, in hindsight... how long was Ben expecting to wait before telling Jack about what he's really there for??? Because i just don't think he had that much time to work with.

i'm the newbie

Hooray for Skate! Why won't Kate run now? Is she really in love, or is she still a two-timer? Who thought they'd have to tell Kate to run away?

Who else thinks Jack is going to get off the island...only to get to the main one? And why does he want off so badly? What does he have to go home to?

I'm excited about Locke being on a mission again...I was tired of his moping and trying to steal Claire.

Who's the Jacob that made the list? Is it 'He'? And/or the one-eyed man?

Why was no one around when Jack got out of his cell? It seemed kinda planned, to let Jack think he had some control I think...especially because Alex seems to trust Ben, and we trust Alex, right? Which brings us to...who trusts Juliet?

It will be hard to wait until February...

"I Do"

"Jack makes a decision regarding Ben's offer, Kate feels helpless when it looks like an angry Pickett is going to make good on his threat to kill Sawyer, and Locke discovers a hidden message that may guide him through the next steps of his journey to unlocking the secrets of the island."
~ from Lostpedia

Can't wait for tonight! Kate flashbacks and Skater's rejoice!!! Will be hard to wait for February 7th to come around. ):

i have been working on my analysis of this season's eps, but i haven't had the time to polish them and post. We should be getting our Lost text sessions up soon. The blog should be getting a new look soon, too (i'm almost finished with it).

new contributor!

The person responsible for my absence two weeks ago (i was flying to visit her, after all) is now a contributor at eh4r! Little sis brinna_rose has yet to come up with a new Lost-sounding nickname, but i am forever your...

Muchacha de Hurley

"Every Man for Himself" synopsis

"Sawyer discovers just how far his captors will go to thwart any plans of escape he and Kate might have, and Jack is called upon to scrub up in order to save the life of one of the Others. Meanwhile, Desmond’s behavior begins to perplex the survivors when he starts construction on an unknown device."
~ Lostpedia

i know, i've been quiet. See, two eps ago i didn't get to watch again and write a review (though i do have it on video). Last ep i stayed at work during my "lunch" to watch the ep but missed parts due to conversations and the soda machine making so much noise that i couldn't really hear and then it turned out that my VCR didn't record it. i've borrowed a copy of the Locke epi but haven't had time to watch any of it yet. i have been soooo busy with school and work. Don't get me wrong, the semester is going reasonably well and i love my new job, but i really don't have a surplus of free time. i have something that demands my time seven days a week.

But i am super excited about tonight's episode. In fact, i am probably more excited about tonight than i was to see the season premier. Crazy, huh? But then, i am a really big Skater. i think that it's finally here!

The Glass Ballerina text session

Southern Mama: It wasn't zeke who got it last night...

Muchacha de Hurley: Yeah that was weird i was sure that was him in the preview maybe its coming up later in the season.

Southern Mama: I still think Jin is the daddy.

Muchacha de Hurley: i am mad at Sun

Muchacha de Hurley: Anyways, i'm pretty sure that it was Tom in the preview but maybe i should go back and check.

Muchacha de Hurley: Re: i still think jin is the Daddy... i don't know but it seems like she should have known sooner if it isn't i mean u would think her first tip off would have been no .

Southern Mama: If they were getting it on at all she would know...you can feel the uterus by then. Who knows how long before they felw, they had the affair...

Muchacha de Hurley: We must also remember that the show's writers r male

Southern Mama: I was just about to say, it's tv, they don't care that much about accuracy or don't even know.

Southern Mama: She would be farther along if it wasn't jin's though i think.

Muchacha de Hurley: Yeah, i think she would be showing if from affair, possibly know before the plane crash. Wonder if she would have left jin, if other guy really killed self, what they (Sun and Jin) did on honeymoon...?

Southern Mama: Some people think he got pushed by someone checking up on Jin who was another of sun's dad's employees... Do you think the guy was stealing something other than sun?

Muchacha de Hurley: That was also my thought: but i also wonder if the honeymoon was a reward for good job. i also think was only about sun.

Southern Mama: Do you think the guy knew he was sun's husband?

Muchacha de Hurley: Definitely. That's part of the reason that i think it might have actually been suicide.

Southern Mama: But do you think Jin knew then?

Muchacha de Hurley: No, he was confused by the response. i think he still believes Sun's lie.

Southern Mama: I think he thought the guy thought he was just a messenger.

Muchacha de Hurley: Well yeah, inside, but when he fell on Jin's hood?

Southern Mama: I thought that was coincidence.

Muchacha de Hurley: Coincidence that he landed on Jin's hood u mean?

Southern Mama: Why would the guy beg for his life then jump out a window?

Muchacha de Hurley: Stinks that Ben is watching (Kate, Sawyer, and Jack). ):

Muchacha de Hurley: Good point but i was thinking that he may have decided he didn't want 2 live w/o sun the irony being that when he could have had her he didn't want her. Also ironic that Sun seems 2 always have feared father and he was dad's 1st pick.

Dharma Defunct?

The other day i had "Downtown" stuck in my head so i started thinking about Dharma. i've come to a couple of conclusions: Dharama obviously can't be entirely defunct for a couple of reasons. 1 - the inhabitants of the Island still receive food shipments. 2 - the inhabitants of the Island are still in communication with the outside world, otherwise Juliet would not be able to have a file on Jack. And who really thinks that the Others only have a file on Jack? i'm sure they have a file on every passenger who was on the flight. i bet they had the information right away and it's how they chose which Tailies to take. Furthermore, the Island obviously can't be a snowglobe if planes are making drops and the Pala Ferry obviously has to take recruits/team members somewhere (possible a place known as "Rescue").

The thing that i've always wondered about is the (Swan) hatch: if it was so all important for this button to be pushed 13.3 times every single day then why did they never rotate the staff as indicated in the Orientation film? Would they really put/keep people in place that they don't know they can trust if this button has to be pushed? If they're watching the hatch via camera (we know they were at the Pearl, i'm sure they could have been elsewhere, even so, why did they abandon the Pearl?) then they're going to know when people are commiting suicide and when untested individuals are becoming replacements. This entire system is suspect. There are a lot of unanswered questions here that don't entirely make sense.

"A Tale of Two Cities" (finally!)

i had originally read that this was going to be a Kate episode, so i was a bit surprised to see Juliet at the beginning. i've been avoiding spoilers for about a month now and had heard that they were going to show the plane breaking up from the outside, but i admit that i fell for it: i didn't realize at first that the teaser was happening is on the Island. Fake Henry's real name is worked into conversation... but you don't realize who they're talking about. The lives of the others seem so normal... the way they're dressed, their housing development, yet they lived an hour's run away from the Tailies (in the Crater, perhaps?). Seeing the plane break apart was awesome, as is the incrimental pull back.

And then we find out it's a Jack episode. The flashback premise is sound enough but i really wasn't hankering for a Jack episode. Still, Christian Shephard's character development in particular is very interesting.

Observations:
- Stephen King is the author of the book club's read but you don't get to see which book.

- Jack's cell is remarkabe mixture of Captain Pike's in Star Trek's original pilot "The Cage" and the aquarium in Star Trek IV.

- Kate isn't Tom's type. ROFL

- Jack and Kate have both had blood drawn while Sawyer apparently has not.

- What's the new symbol look like? It's too far away to see. I couldn't tell at first what the symbol was on, but now i think it is a pipe.

- Where did the teenager (Karl) come from?

- My immediate impression of Sawyer's cell is a rat maze and psychological testing. Can the rat learn not to push the button because it's going to get zapped? Can the rat figure out how to get food? Can a bear understand the word "Warning" or the symbol for a restaurant? "S of a B" was such a Sawyer thing to say.

- Not that i'm on Jack's side, but what exactly did he do to push Sarah away? They haven't shown him trying to fix her. Was his staying at work all night a normal occurence? i guess he's just distant? The funny thing is that some people seem to think that Jack is trying to fix Kate while i feel that he has ignored her instead. He has periods in which he tries to control her and periods in which he treats her like dirt. i'm definitely a "What did you do with Sawyer and Jack?" kind of girl.

- Kate's dress is awesome. But why is Kate scared of Fake Henry? Why does she have to put on handcuffs? Why did they burn Kate's clothes? You have to wonder about why the next two weeks are going to be unpleasant (i was expecting it, but i'm still wondering).

- i didn't catch it at first, but Jack called his father with a number from Sarah's phone. First off, how'd he get the numbers off her phone? Second off, wouldn't he have names with the phone numbers he lifted off her phone (if he stole her contact list; even if he didn't, if he stole her recently dialed numbers, Christian would be in her contact list and the name would be there with it, at least on my phone).

- Does the intercom really work? i know there is often the appearance of things being broken down in Hatches, etc., but how often are these things really broken down? Is Dharma still alive and kicking or is it now defunct? And i guess i should have asked this at the end of last season instead of when i saw LTDA a couple of weeks ago, but Kelvin said that he had been recruited: how did he get to the Island? Pala Ferry? Or did he actually crash/become shipwrecked/etc. while on a CIA mission and was recruited by Radzinsky?

- Why did Jack say he was a repo man (of all things)???

- Does Sawyer think that the boy is an "Other"? He sure picked that lock quick. i don't think that i'd trust him to tell me which way to run, that's for sure. And come on, Sawyer, do you still expect them all to be dressed in rags?!?

- They apparently knocked Karl around, but was it a genuine escape attempt?

- So, those drugs cause hallucinations. So they put the guy who was just shot a couple of weeks ago in a cage without food or water and offer to feed the healthy people... Figures, seeing how Jack is the one who had Fake Henry in a cage and Kate was captured and released before... though i must admit that Sawyer has a score to settle with Tom.

- Is the woman at Christian's A.A. meeting the same leader as in Locke's support group?

- Can we trust Juliet? She says that this place is underwater, but i think its more likely that the pipe by Sawyer's cage provides the water at this point (i was all set for a submarine or underwater compound, too). She seems to be on the outs with Ben, but is she merely an innocent-looking interrogator? i mean do we really believe that she hadn't read Jack's file before she started talking to him? That she can deck Jack with one punch? At this point i think that she's on the outs with Ben but is a trained interrogator, possibly able to be turned, but manipulating Jack. Because this Hatch (for lack of a better term) is right off a beach it is a possibility that the portion Jack is in is underwater, but because Henry keeps popping in and out i would say that it is relatively easy to escape from. i think that they let Jack and Sawyer escape so they'd find out right away that it is hopeless (at least, that's what they want them to think).

- So the Escapee Alarm goes off when Sawyer reaches for the rock?

- "Reward...Reward..." Some reward that is. Fish based... what in the heck is it? Looks like Dharma Cat Food. i can't believe that Sawyer tried so hard to figure out how to get food. Is it all you can eat?

- i know they dragged Karl off after he tried to escape, but where is he now?

- Why are Kate's wrists bloody? And why didn't Kate eat breakfast with Fake Henry?

- If Sawyer's in a bear cage, what kind of cage is Kate in?

- Jack's at the Shark & Dolphin Tattoo Parlor, isn't he?

- So re: "Tale of Two Cities" i guess that Jack, in prison, decides to give up on the woman he loves so she can be happy with another man? How does Juliet knpw Sarah's happy, has she asked her?

- Re: the trailer... Kate asks for Jack. Sawyer gets to kick Tom's butt. Kate and Sawyer kiss (awesome). Sun gets shot (poor girl, hope the baby's okay, but i really don't think they're killing her off).

silent, but not forgotten

i finally got my copy of Lost season one in the mail, and i finally quit my job and got a new one, so hopefully i'll have more time to post here before school starts on August 21. Lately i've been posting a lot at the Fuselage but i have been thinking about posting here, too. i'm thinking that a new look will be in order for season three, but it's a long time until October 4.

Thursday, May 25, 2006

oh, also

It about time that Claire kissed Charlie!!! Psycho b... uh, yeah, just make up your mind already, he almost died for you, after all. And that's all i have to say about that.

just watched it again

"Henry" told Michael that he would find "Rescue" much the same way Danielle would say that they were going to the "Black Rock". Still, i'm not surprised that he's the one in charge on the Island.

What in the world do they want Jack, Kate, and Sawyer for? Will Hurley be in charge (or maybe Sayid)? And what in the world were their expressions about right before the bags were pulled over their heads???

now that it's over

Okay, is it just me, or do Libby/Elizabeth and Penny/Penelope look like they could be sisters?

"Henry" is the leader! i am not very surprised, but it was really neat to see.

What happened to Locke and Eko and Desmond? It's my guess that nothing happened, but that's just me.

Timeline?
>: Desmond meets Libby
>: Desmond attempts eight month race around the world
>: Desmond washes up onto Island
>: Desmond sends more than two years in hatch
>: Desmond accidentally kills Kelvin when he discovers that his boat hasn't been destroyed
>: SYSTEM FAILURE is flashing when Desmond returns
>: Locke beats on hatch, Desmond turns on light
>: Locke blows up hatch
>: Desmond attempts to sail away from Island (snowglobe)
>: Desmond returns to the Island drunk
>: Locke lets countdown run down (incidentally, the numbers could have still been entered after the monitor was broken, but fixing mistakes would be problematic)
>: Desmond turns key that drunk Kelvin told him about
>: "violet" light (according to Claire it was violet)
>: what happened? (again, i say nothing)

who died? if anyone, Eko, but doubtful.
>: Season one: anonymous female, Ethan, Boone, Arzt
>: Season two: Shannon, Nathan, Goodwin, Ana Lucia, Libby

more ramblings later
This episode is frickin' amazing.

oh, and i still believe that the button doesn't matter

observations during the ep (also posted at the Fuselage)

Stupid vcr missed the spoiler except for the last ten seconds! Sometimes i hate technology; did i miss anything?

Cynthia Watros is in tonight's ep!

Hurley's great: "I thought the point was to save Walt."

Sawyer's "Let's Roll" of course makes me think of Flight 93 (which i haven't seen yet, but that's OT).

Also OT, great X-Men preview.

Ah, how sweet! The Elizabeth is named for Libby

i think that Desmond is a coward who's running away

Eko is crazy (i hope he and Charlie are okay)

Well at least we know that they didn't just kill off the three main characters in one fell swoop. Also, wouldn't they need more than/on one dart for Hurley? He's a big guy.

The question is: who (if anybody) is going to die by the end of this episode.

still watching...

oh, right

i totally believe that the new symbol on the hatch in last week's ep was Orion. Time to turn on the TV!

tonight's season finale

Well, it's finally here (in half an hour, give or take a few minutes) and once again i've neglected to write. This summer i hope to be watching both season again and recording my observations here. Some that are pertinent to tonight i will list below:

The sailboat is Desmond's... whether he is inside it is unclear.

i don't believe that anyone should be pushing the button in the hatch: i've always thought that it's just a psychological experiment.

my respect for Sawyer has grown this year but i'm still astonished that he considers Jack a friend; i believe that he took the guns not for power for himself but to protect his friends.

i predict that Walt's going to be back full time next season

i can't think of anything else and it's taken me long enough to come up with this stuff: signing off

"Live Together, Die Alone"

"After discovering something odd just offshore, Jack and Sayid come up with a plan to confront "The Others" and hopefully get Walt back. Meanwhile, Eko and Locke come to blows as Locke makes a potentially cataclysmic decision regarding the "button" and the hatch."

re: "Three Minutes"

Dude, i've really got to write more here. i've just been so tired lately. So, Michael is not brainwashed, just coerced. Had i taken a moment to realize that he was only gone, what, two weeks? (i need to see the ep again) i would have thought this as it was one of my theories anyway. But whose going to believe me when i didn't take the time to write it down!?! (:

finally! Lost season two is coming out on DVD!

Amazon.com's listing

i've been looking for info about this for months; unfortunately, we have to wait until October 3rd.

just back from Mission Impossible 3

Great film, better than the second, though not as good as the first of course. Abrams really did great work. i just got back, hopped on the internet to drop everyone a note, and discovered that Abrams is slated to write, produce, and possibly direct Star Trek XI with Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci (as yet untitled or announced which series it will be based on, mum is the word on such developments). All i can see is wow, i can hardly wait until 2008.

"?"

"Mr. Eko enlists Locke to help find a secret location he believes houses answers to the island's mysteries. Meanwhile, Jack and the other survivors struggle to cope with the horrific situation in the hatch."
- from ABC.com

All i can say is "Wow, i hope the good stuff keeps coming! i like season two even better than season one."

Mission Impossible 3

i didn't get to see it this weekend as i had hoped: i'll hopefully get to see it on Tuesday, otherwise i will have to wait until next Sunday.

Re: point 3

C. Michael has been brainwashed by the Others and will be leading them all into a trap

This was something i meant to include but forgot, but after reading some more at the Fuselage it is the idea i most agree with/support. Unfortunately i am just too tired and brain dead at the moment to write about it in detail.

wow

Last night's episode surely was a shocker, wasn't it? I don't have much time to post, i just wanted to hit a few things.

1. i guess that this makes arguing about whether Libby is an other a moot point

2. i found it ironic that Sawyer called Ana Lucia "muchacha" when i just picked that for my screen name at the Fuselage just a couple of weeks ago. Also, i totally did not want the two of them together! i am totally a Sawyer/Kate fan and knew that Ana Lucia was just doing it to get the gun.

3. As i see it, there are several options on WHAT IN THE WORLD WAS MICHAEL THINKING aspects of plot development.
A. he has become an other and was trying to free Henry
B. he's just trying to amp up the tension so everyone will be sure to go after them

i'm really leaning towards B, especially because he shot himself (in the arm it looks like, a graze) and opened the safe to let Henry out. Henry's probably going to have to run for his life. Also, i don't think that the camp Michael found is the only camp, nor do i think it is where Walt is being held.

Question: what did Locke tell Jack? about the map?

so, who's dead? Libby, i think, is obvious, as she took at least two shots to the stomach and chest. i don't think the blanket helped her at all. Ana Lucia is a maybe: she'll probably still be alive at the beginning of the next episode and die slowly of a gut wound. Michael will most likely get away with this charade (judging by the preview) and everyone will now of course be gunning to go after the Others. After the slow pace of development last season this season has positively been on fast forward! Anyways WHAT IN THE WORLD WAS MICHAEL THINKING!?!

been meaning to write

According to the previews next week's episode is one with clips and (imho corny) narration. Suffice to say, i will not be watching.

i just joined the Fuselage

going to have to whip out my sister's dvds...

Henry Gale in season one?

welcome to my new blog!

i've been thinking about starting this blog for a while now. Every time i watch an episode of Lost i pick up new details (especially those at the beginning now that i've seen all of the aired episodes of season two). Browsing websites such as LostPedia gives me ideas for new theories as well as discrediting others: i hope to write my ideas and responses here. This page may grow to include other people's opinions, but right now it will just be me. Please feel free to make comments and include your own ideas and until my next post, keep enjoying Lost!
